Interior Identity: A Collectible First Edition

Interior Identity introduces 25 interior design languages developed by Shane V. Charles and grounded in the cultures, histories, and material traditions of the African diaspora. Afro Dandy, Haitian Revival, Pan-African Modern, and others establish distinct principles of color, material, form, pattern, ornament, and spatial expression. Rather than defining style through aesthetics alone, these languages consider how cultural identity can inform the making of interior space. Together, they establish a new framework for understanding and articulating African-diasporic design within contemporary interiors.
